Privacy policy

How Droop Canvas, Kampala, Uganda, collects and uses personal information, in line with the Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019.

What we collect

What you give us when you buy: your name, email, phone number and, for deliveries, your address.
For tickets you send to friends: the name and phone number or email you give for them, and any details they add themselves.
About your order: what you bought, how you paid and whether the payment went through. Card and mobile money details stay with the payment provider.
About your tickets: when they were opened, added to a wallet, downloaded and scanned at the door.

We record how the site is used: pages visited, buttons used, steps reached at checkout, the kind of device and browser, the city and the internet provider a visit comes from. A random identifier in a cookie links visits from the same browser for up to 180 days.
This is recorded by us, on our own systems, without third-party trackers or advertising networks, and without your name, email or phone number.
If your browser asks sites not to track you, visits are counted one at a time and never linked together.
Detailed records are kept for 13 months, then only summaries are kept.

To process your order, deliver your tickets and merchandise, and let you in at the door.
To email you about your order, including one reminder if a payment wasn’t finished and a reminder the day before an event.
To keep checkout safe from abuse and fraud.
To understand what works on the site and fix what doesn’t.
To send you news only if you asked for it. Every news email has a link to stop them.

Only the services that run the shop for us: our payment provider and the mobile networks or card issuer that approve your payment, our email service, the companies that host the site and its database, and Cloudflare, which checks for automated abuse.
Apple or Google, when you add a ticket to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.
We never sell personal information.

Cookies keep your bag, keep you signed in, protect checkout, and link visits as described above. No advertising cookies are used.

Order and payment records are kept as long as our accounting and legal duties require. Everything else is deleted or reduced to summaries when no longer needed.

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to how it is used.
You can delete your account from the account page at any time.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Personal Data Protection Office, Uganda.
